A Saturday-to-Saturday week from Tortola: seven nights aboard, short hops in the Sir Francis Drake Channel, one weather call on Anegada, and a last night close enough to base that Saturday morning is not a scramble. Distances are approximate rhumb-line figures at a 5–6 kt cruise.

Same loop from Nanny Cay, Hodges Creek or Soper’s Hole — only the first night changes. Anegada is a forecast decision, not a promise: in 20+ kt trades or a northerly swell, take another night in North Sound instead.

Day 1

Day 1 — The Bight, Norman Island

British Virgin Islands / Norman Island

Short first hop from Road Town, about 6 nm and roughly an hour. Big protected mooring field, easy dinghy ride ashore, and tomorrow’s snorkel sites on the doorstep. Save The Caves and The Indians for the morning — they are day buoys with a 90-minute clock.

Things To Do:
Settle the boat, swim, sunset from the mooring field
Food:
Dinner at Pirate’s Bight on the beach; lunch at Willy T if you arrive early
Anchorage:
Overnight balls in The Bight, paid locally — not BoatyBall reservable
Sail:
Road Town → The Bight, ~6 nm, 1–1.25 hrs

Day 2

Day 2 — Cooper Island, Manchioneel Bay

British Virgin Islands / Cooper Island

Morning snorkel at The Caves at Treasure Point and The Indians, then an easy sail east down the Sir Francis Drake Channel, about 7 nm. Manchioneel Bay is a mooring-only night with the beach club right off the dinghy dock. Note the resort closes 3 August to 1 November.

Snorkel The Caves at Treasure Point and The Indians — park day buoys, 90 minutes
Food:
Cooper Island Beach Club — restaurant, rum bar and microbrewery; reserve dinner
Anchorage:
BoatyBall reservable balls (drop 07:00) plus first-come; anchoring not recommended
Sail:
The Bight → Cooper, ~7 nm, 1.25–1.5 hrs

Day 3

Day 3 — The Baths and North Sound, Virgin Gorda

British Virgin Islands / Virgin Gorda

The Baths by day, North Sound by night. Cooper to The Baths is about 5 nm, then another 5 nm up to Leverick Bay or Saba Rock. Park hours are 08:30–16:30 with a 90-minute day-buoy limit, and strong winter swell can close beach access from the sea.

Food:
Lunch at Top of the Baths; dinner at Leverick Bay or Saba Rock in North Sound
Anchorage:
Park day buoys at The Baths (no overnight); BoatyBall at Leverick Bay and Saba Rock

Cooper → The Baths ~5 nm, then → Leverick ~5 nm

Day 4

Day 4 — Setting Point, Anegada

British Virgin Islands / Anegada

The weather call of the week. Leverick or Saba Rock to Setting Point is about 14 nm, 2.5–3 hours, and Anegada is ringed by Horseshoe Reef. Go only in settled trades with high sun and an early start. At 20+ knots, northerly swell or poor visibility, skip it and take another night in North Sound.

Taxi or hire a car to Loblolly Bay — reef coral you can swim to from the beach
Food:
Lunch at Cow Wreck Beach Bar; dinner at Anegada Reef Hotel — order lobster ahead
Anchorage:
BoatyBall reservable at Setting Point plus first-come and anchoring; dinghy dock ashore
Sail:
North Sound → Setting Point, ~14 nm, 2.5–3 hrs — leave early

WEATHER CALL :

Anegada only in settled trades — otherwise stay in North Sound

Day 5

Day 5 — Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke

British Virgin Islands / Jost Van Dyke

The long day — Anegada to Great Harbour is roughly 22–26 nm and 4–5 hours, the classic downwind run. If you skipped Anegada it is 11–21 nm from North Sound or Marina Cay, often with a snorkel at Monkey Point. Overnight in Great Harbour, not White Bay.

White Bay by dinghy or taxi — a Painkiller at the Soggy Dollar Bar
Food:
Foxy’s Tamarind Bar at the east end of the beach; beach BBQ Friday and Saturday
Anchorage:
BoatyBall at Great Harbour, Little Harbour and Diamond Cay; dinghy dock for Foxy’s
Sail:
Anegada → Great Harbour, ~22–26 nm, 4–5 hrs

Day 6

Day 6 — Cane Garden Bay, Tortola

British Virgin Islands / Tortola

A short hour-long hop of about 5 nm from Jost, with an optional pause at Sandy Cay. Beach bars, a working rum distillery up the road and live music at night. The bay is open to the north, so if a northerly swell is running treat it as a day stop and sleep at Soper’s Hole instead.

Callwood Rum Distillery, a short walk off the beach — ask before wandering the grounds
Food:
Lunch at Myett’s Garden & Grille; dinner at Quito’s Gazebo with live reggae some nights
Anchorage:
BoatyBall reservable plus first-come; public dinghy dock

Great Harbour → Cane Garden Bay, ~5 nm, about 1 hr

Day 7

Day 7 — Soper’s Hole, West End, Tortola

British Virgin Islands / Tortola

Last night close to base. Around the west end from Cane Garden Bay is about 6 nm and 1–1.5 hours, which puts you on the south coast for a first-light run back to Road Town or Nanny Cay. This is the night not to get greedy — the 09:00 return is real.

Things To Do:
Walk the marina, fuel and ice, or a last swim at White Bay if the water is friendly
Food:
Pusser’s Landing at Soper’s Hole, or back aboard — keep it early
Anchorage:
BoatyBall reservable at Soper’s Hole plus marina slips and dinghy dockage
Sail:
Cane Garden Bay → Soper’s Hole, ~6 nm, 1–1.5 hrs
